During the summer before social-work studies, I built this shelter, called the Birdhouse because of its shape, and put it up in the woods at the foot of the San Juan Forest in Colorado — overlooking the Lower-Blanco River.
This is where the seeds of awareness sprouted and grew into alternative mathematics. During the MSW years, and for more than a decade afterward, this was the inspirational center for re-thinking our stories of physics and applied mathematics.
