Our historical path of discovery in physics and applied mathematics has served a narrow mission to create reliable methods to measure, predict, and control properties and behavior of material.

Historical science-fiction has inspired thought - parallel to physics - about the nature of us and our universe. These two fantasy stories - Flatland and Sphereland - inspired thoughts of a hidden (fourth) spatial dimension (not the time dimension of physics)

Altered concepts and mathematical constructs is the key to renewal. Our path of thought about applied mathematics goes hand in hand with the path of physics. This work utilizes five mathematical concepts / constructs that are missing from both sources of story - science and science fiction.
