My introduction to controversy about Einstein’s theory of special relativity was in discussions with Ian McCausland, a full professor and colleague in the electrical engineering automatic control group. His book shown in the left side of the picture was published in 2011, but the work it describes (with Professor Herbert Dingle) was active back then - in the 1970’s. In several afternoon discussions over tea (coffee for me), Ian told me about the way the physics community basically refused to answer Professor Dingle’s legitimate questions.
In my prime back then, under 30, I tried my best to understand Einstein’s special relativity, but doing so just took me in circles. I think my sessions with Professor McCausland - together with inability to get my arms around relativity - planted a seed that stayed dormant until sprouting in this work
